Project Description:

A development of 26 high quality one and two-bedroom flats. Exeter City Council develop certified Passivhaus flats for Exeter’s social tenants. The development is aimed at providing downsizing apartments for over-60s, in turn freeing up larger council-owned homes for families in need.

The development utilised a new construction method for structureHaus and the rest of the design team with the use of Porotherm Clay blocks more widely used to date in Europe. These teamed with precast planks and a prefabricated timber roof structure provided a thermally efficient structure to base the passivehaus design upon. We are now using this method of construction in a number of new developments throughout the south west.
