DAVID PHILLIPS

FOUNDER/DIRECTOR

David is the founder and Managing Director of structureHaus. Having started his career in the South East with Deakin Callard + Partners and Cameron Taylor Bedford in London he then moved to the West Country becoming a Director at Paul Carpenter Associates. structureHaus was founded in 2014 and now has offices in London, Exeter and Stuttgart.

David has over thirty years’ experience as a Structural Engineer in a broad variety of multi-million pound commercial, residential, public sector and retail projects throughout the UK and beyond. He has a deep-seated interest in the natural environment and how good engineering and design can be improved to bring beneficial change to the natural and built environments.

A father to three adult children, David splits his time between Devon, London and Germany.

MARK HARRIS

DIRECTOR

Mark has been practising as a Chartered Structural Engineer for over ten years and joined structureHaus in 2019. 
He has over twenty years of consultancy and practical experience in the Private, Public, Retail, Residential and Commercial Sectors. 
Mark’s previous experiences in a multi discipline design Group have given him a great awareness of working within the BIM environment and the benefits, such as early engagement, through the RIBA Stages. 
He has a passion for finding economy in design, financially and sustainably, from the outset, whilst working with the other designers to ensure that Architectural flare is not compromised and thus finding a successful structural solution first time. 
Mark has a young family of two boys who also share his other passion for the outside and the sea, when not designing Mark will be found surfing or Triathlon training.

CONSULTANT ARCHITECT (GERMANY)

Brigitte qualified as an Architect in Stuttgart in 1990 and trained in Delft and Tokyo with Arata Isozaki. She has been Principal Architect on multi-million Euro commercial projects such as care homes, residential and healthcare buildings and recently completed a €17M office project before joining structureHaus. Her role is now to advise the team and clients where necessary, project design work, as well as business development in the UK and Germany.

JOHN PARHAM

CONSULTANT CAD TECHNICIAN

John has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including Arup, Whitby Bird and Price and Myers, on projects ranging from the first high rise building on Docklands Cascades, to the redevelopment of Liverpool Street Station on site with Bovis. He has also worked on Portcullis House, The Royal Opera House and was an integral part of a small team which delivered the New Grandstand at Lords. His assignments have been far ranging, including the MTR railway system in Bangkok for Faber Maunsell (now AECOM) to the Straw Bale House which was on Channel 4's Grand Designs.

John brings experience and discipline to our drawing production.

CONSULTANT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER

Willi joined structureHaus in September 2014. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer. Willi has over 13 years’ professional post-qualification experience in large scale highways scheme to small scale domestic drainage projects.

Willis key skills include feasibility studies, detailed drainage and highway design, technical co‑ordination, project management, as well as Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies to support planning applications.
